Crystal
Crystal is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and the founder and Director of Operations at CPR Training Austin. With over 16 years of clinical experience spanning the emergency room, intensive care unit, and operating room, she brings a level of medical expertise to CPR and emergency response education that is rare in Austin's certification landscape.
A graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina and Texas Wesleyan University's APRN program, Crystal founded CPR Training Austin to close the gap between checkbox certification and real-world readiness. She has trained Austin-area healthcare providers, corporate teams, and community members in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP for over a decade — and built an instructor team whose collective backgrounds span combat medicine, pediatric emergency care, fire rescue, and special operations.

Brett Alleman
Brett brings over 11 years of hands-on Emergency Medical Services experience and an extensive background in disaster relief operations. His approach to instruction is grounded in simplicity and real-world application — he teaches BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, and CPR/First Aid so that students not only understand the protocol but can execute it under pressure. Whether you're a first responder or taking your first emergency training class in Austin, Brett's goal is to send you home genuinely prepared.

Max Ballesteros
Max is a Flight Paramedic with Travis County Starflight, Austin's air medical program, where he delivers critical care in some of the highest-acuity prehospital environments in the region. Before joining Starflight, he flew with Air Evac Lifeteam and spent nearly a decade as a Paramedic and Paramedic Supervisor across South Texas EMS agencies before transitioning to flight.
At CPR Training Austin, Max teaches BLS, ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS with the situational awareness and clinical depth that comes from managing critical patients in the air. For Austin healthcare providers and first responders, his perspective on resuscitation and trauma is as real-world as it gets.
BLS • ACLS • PALS Instructor
Ibrahim Hejazi
Ibrahim is a licensed Paramedic (EMT-P) currently working at Dell Children's Hospital and St. David's North Austin Medical Center, where he delivers advanced life support care across both pediatric and adult populations. His day-to-day clinical work — from pediatric BLS transport to advanced airway and line management in the ER — translates directly into the BLS and ACLS certification courses he teaches at CPR Training Austin.
Ibrahim's pediatric emergency background makes him a strong resource for healthcare providers who work with or around children and want CPR instruction grounded in current real-world standards.
BLS • ACLS • PALS Instructor
Joseph Pecorilla
Joseph is a Firefighter/Paramedic whose career spans U.S. Army combat medicine, structural and wildland fire response, and active instructor roles at Fort Cavazos. He spent four years as a Combat Medic delivering emergency care in austere environments, then continued as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Copperas Cove and Round Rock Fire Departments.
At CPR Training Austin, Joseph brings the precision and calm that comes from training soldiers in life-saving techniques under real pressure. His BLS and ACLS classes are structured, efficient, and built around the same standards he applied in the field.
BLS • ACLS • PALS • CPR / First Aid Instructor
John Stevens
John is an NREMT Certified Paramedic and credentialed ACLS/PALS CPR Instructor with one of the most layered emergency medicine backgrounds on the team. A retired Phoenix Police Lieutenant and 40-year U.S. Navy veteran, John served as a SWAT Medic, Special Operations Troop Chief, and Total Casualty Care Instructor — earning a Navy Commendation Medal and four Navy Achievement Medals along the way.
His certifications in Tactical Combat Casualty Care, SOF Operational Emergency Medical Skills, and CBRN defense bring serious depth to his understanding of emergency response. For Austin healthcare providers seeking BLS, ACLS, or PALS certification, John's instruction reflects decades of applied experience across the highest-stakes environments in the field.
BLS • CPR / First Aid Instructor
Yosef Awad
Yosef holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from UT Dallas and works as a Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician alongside his role as a CPR and BLS instructor at CPR Training Austin. His academic foundation in neuroscience — combined with hands-on patient care in a high-acuity clinical setting — gives him a strong grasp of the physiology behind what he teaches.
Yosef's classes are clear, organized, and approachable — built for healthcare professionals pursuing BLS certification in Austin and community members looking for CPR and First Aid training without the intimidation factor.
BLS • CPR / First Aid Instructor • Office Administrator
Carolyn Suarez
Carolyn keeps CPR Training Austin running behind the scenes and in the classroom. A University of New Orleans graduate with a background in film production and a Texas Notary Public commission, she joined the team in 2026 and quickly added BLS and CPR/First Aid instruction to her role as Office Administrator.
Her operational precision — honed across construction project management and large-scale event coordination including SXSW — translates into organized, well-run certification classes. Carolyn is typically your first point of contact and frequently your instructor, and she takes both roles equally seriously.
