What's the difference between this and the Hybrid BLS?
This course is fully in-person — you complete both the cognitive (written) portion and hands-on skills in one classroom session with no pre-work. The Hybrid BLS requires you to complete the AHA HeartCode online module on your own first, then come in for a shorter skills check-off only (about 1 hour).
Do I need to study or prepare before class?
No pre-course preparation is required. Your instructor will teach you everything during the class. Just bring your textbook and photo ID.
What do I need to bring?
Just bring a valid photo ID and wear comfortable clothing. You'll be on your hands and knees practicing CPR skills.
What is the written exam like?
The written exam is 25 questions. You need to score 84% or higher to pass — that means you can miss up to 4 questions. Most students find it straightforward after completing the class.
What if I don't pass the skills check?
Your instructor will work with you to ensure you're comfortable with the skills before testing. If you need additional practice, we'll accommodate you.
